Description
One reason Orbix landed on Lookout Mountain was the inspiration it provides in the landscape. In 2010, an extremely hard freeze and snow covered the property. As soon as the pond started freezing and the icicles began lengthening, a competition ensued. Dares as to who could find the longest icicle, make the largest snowball and walk the furthest on the frozen pond kept the days carefree and the mind fresh.
For an artist, these are still work days. Teachers have training days, business executives have professional days, athletes have rest days. Artists need inspiration days. After grappling with frozen limbs and trunks and then reflecting on the day by the fire with sketchbook in hand, the Arbor Vase emerged.
